Final Round open to the public – RESERVATIONS

Dear Friends,
We are happy to invite you to the Final Round of the 4th Evgeny Svetlanov Competition which will be held on September 8, 2018, at the Auditorium of Radio France.

The Final Round will be composed of two sessions :
2.00-5.30 p.m. (2 candidates)
6.00-9.00 p.m. (2 candidates)

=> Free admission upon prior reservation.

=> Reservations are open from August 20th, 2018 on Radio France webiste, here

=> Your reservation is valid for both sessions of the Final Round.

=> At the end of the Final Round, the audience will vote for their favorite candidate to recieve the Audience Prize.

6th of September: Concert tribute to Evgeny Svetlanov

 

On September 6th, 2018, the musical world will celebrate the 90th anniversary of Maestro Evgeny Svetlanov.

Renowned Russian musicans such as Boris Berezovsky (piano), Vadim Repin (violin), Dmitri Makhtin (violin), Alexander Kniazev (cello) and Andrei Korobeinikov (piano) will get together on this occasion on stage of the Auditorium de Radio France in Paris.

You will enjoy works by Medtner, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky and a beautiful  piece written by Evgeny Svetlanov himself: Poem for violin and orchestra in memory of David Oistrakh.

This unique event will culminate in Romeo & Juliet by Tchaikovsky, presented by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and conducted by Andris Poga (First Prize of the Svetlanov Competition 2010).

Ticket sales for the “Svetlanov – Universe !” Festival are open

 

Dear Friends,
hurry up to buy tickets for the exceptional concerts, in tribute to Maestro Svetlanov. Enjoy not only Evegny Svetlanov’s own compositions (Poem in memory of David Oistrakh, Daybreak in the field, “Memories” in memory of Alexander Yurlov, romances, chamber music), but also Maestro’s favourite works, such as Piano Concerto n°1 and Francesca da Rimini by Tchaikovsky, Petrushka by Stravinsky, Kol Nidrei by Bruch, choral works by Sviridov, romances by Medtner, The Bells by Rachmaninov and many others.

Among the artists who will participate in the musical celebration: Vadim Repin, Boris Berezovsky, Alexandre Kniazev, Dmitri Makhtin, Alexander Rudin, Andrei Korobeinikov, Ekaterina Morozova, Petr Migunov, the Yurlov Choir, Yaron Herman (jazz) and many others.

The laureates of the Evgeny Svetlanov Competition – Robert Trevino, Roberto Fores Veses, Kalle Kuusava and Lio Kuokman – will conduct the Evgeny Svetlanov Russian State Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Conservatory Orchestra and the Ural  Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Press-Conference / Announcement of Candidates

 

Dear Friends, we would like to thank all 350 conductors from 57 countries who have sent us their applications.

The Artistic Committee has almost completed the arduous task of choosing 18 candidates among the scores of amazing conductors who applied.

 

The names of the 18 candidates who will participate in the  First Qualifying Round of the 4th Evgeny Svetlanov International Conducting Competition 2018 will be announced on June 14th, at 5.30 p.m. (UTC+2), during a press-conference at Radio France in Paris.
