The 5th Evgeny Svetlanov International Conducting Competition will be held from 2nd to 5th of June 2022 in Monaco with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra.

The 5th Competition will be organized jointly by the “Evgeny Svetlanov International Conducting Competition” Association and the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra.

Mission and Principles of the Conducting Competition

Evgeny Svetlanov was aware of his future legacy and of the knowledge he wished to hand down to future generations. The project for the establishment of this competition was dear to his heart and he set out this wish in his will as an ultimate display of his passion for music.

The work of a conductor is a lifelong commitment. The conducting Competition reflects the values of Maestro Svetlanov, namely a passion for music, a wish to develop, curiosity and a commitment to handing down knowledge.

Conditions of Admission to the Conducting Competition

Eligibility

1. The Competition is open to conductors of all nationalities who have completed their training. Applications will be considered regardless of candidates’ political persuasion, ethnic origin, faith, gender, marital status or disability unrelated to the profession.

2. Candidates should be born between 1982 and 2002 included.

Registration period

The completed application form (including video recordings) must be sent to the Competition between 15th December 2021 and 15th March 2022 at the latest.

How to apply the Conducting Competition

1. Candidates should fill out in English the application form (click “Apply for the 5th Evgeny Svetlanov Competition”).

The application form will be available from 15th December 2021 to 15th March 2022.

a) The application form should include the following:

The candidate should choose:
– one work from the list of works for the qualifying rounds of the Competition;
– three works from the list of works for the Final Round of the Competition.

The lists of musical works are presented in section 4. Rounds.

b) A photo taken within the last 6 months.

c) Curriculum vitae
The CV should specify the candidate’s previous experience and career as a musician: studies, name of professors, highlights of musical activities, competitions in which he/she has participated, prizes won, etc.

d) Video recordings
The candidate must send at least one video recording via WeTransfer.com or another Internet platform (”Youtube” or other) to competition@svetlanov-evgeny.com (video links should be mentioned in the application form).
