^6th Evgeny Svetlanov International Conducting Competition

We are pleased to announce that the 6th edition of the Evgeny Svetlanov International Conducting Competition will take place from 3 to 6 September 2026 in Birmingham. Held in partnership with the prestigious City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, this edition continues to celebrate Maestro Svetlanov’s artistic legacy by supporting the next generation of talented conductors. The the Jury will be presided over by Maestro Bertrand de Billy.

Applications will be open from 1 March to 15 April 2026. We invite conductors to review the official Rules before submitting their application. Starting with this edition, the Competition will be open to the public from the Seùi-finals onward — offering audiences a unique opportunity to witness the emergence of tomorrow’s great conductors.
