On April 15th 2016, the Evgeny Svetlanov Conservatory in Ekaterinburg, in collaboration with the City of Ekaterinburg, held a conference on the history of musical education in Russia, the difficulties of interpreting music and the schools that train concert musicians as well as the experience of great Russian musicians exemplified by Evgeny Svetlanov’s work.
An exhibition of the famous conductor’s personal items donated by his widow, Nina Svetlanova, as well as a concert where the conservatory professors performed music written by the Master, were organized to complement the conference.
At the end of the conference, it was decided to publish a brochure “Evgeny Svetlanov’s Cultural Heritage in Contemporary Sociocultural Context” and to organize a new conference in 2018 on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Maestro.
It is worth noting that the Evgeny Svetlanov Conservatory in Ekaterinburg is currently in the process of developing an education program on the musical heritage of the master, to be included in its musical training curriculum.
Glory to Maestro !
