Discography

Unless otherwise indicated, Evgeny Svetlanov conducted the Russian State Symphony Orchestra (formerly known as the USSR Symphony Orchestra). All piano solos listed in this repertoire are played by Evgeny Svetlanov.

The reproduction of Evgeny Svetlanov’s recordings varies from country to country depending on the often temporary licences, while an increasing number of pirate recordings are appearing under a variety of labels (not to mention the numerous unauthorised releases). Quoting the producer’s references is irrelevant given the fragility of the classical music market, in which titles are withdrawn on a regular basis. We therefore advise the music lover to refer to sites that advertise Evgeny Svetlanov’s recordings online.

This repertoire was compiled based on the archives of Maestro Svetlanov himself and completed by Marina Bower and Christophe Capacci, the editorial managers of svetlanov-evgeny.com, after long hours of research. However, this list should be regarded as incomplete: Evgeny Svetlanov conducted such a large number of recording sessions that some works may have been overlooked or inaccurately listed. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any additional information or corrections to make.

Evgeny Svetlanov primarily conducted recordings for the following recording companies: ICA Classics (United Kingdom), Warner Music France, Melodiya (USSR), RCA-BMG Classics (United States and Germany), EMI (United Kingdom), Vanguard Classics (Netherlands), Canyon Classics-Emergo (Japan), Sony Classical (Japan), Saison Russe-Harmonia Mundi, Le Chant du Monde, Naïve (France)…
