Artistic Director of the Opéra national du Capitole de Toulouse

Christophe Ghristi has been the Artistic Director of the Opéra national du Capitole de Toulouse since 2017. From 1995 to 2009, he served as dramaturge at the Théâtre du Capitole before becoming Director of Dramaturgy at the Opéra national de Paris from 2009 to 2014. At the same time, he was Artistic Director of the Amphithéâtre Bastille.

Since 2017, at the Opéra national du Capitole, he has introduced numerous composers into the company’s repertoire — Dukas, Dvořák, Britten, Ponchielli, and others — while inviting prestigious conductors, singers, and stage directors. He also pays particular attention to outreach and collaboration with school audiences through original projects.

In 2023, the institution was named “Opera House of the Year” by Radio Classique, and in June 2025, the Ballet of the Opéra national du Capitole received the Award for Best Choreographic Company of the Season, presented by the Syndicat national de la critique.

He is Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur, Officier des Arts et des Lettres, and Chevalier des Palmes académiques.
