Letter of thanks for the attribution of the name Evgeny Svetlanov to the Kaliningrad Philharmonic Orchestra

For the attention of the President of the Yevgeny Svetlanov Foundation, Ms. Nina Svetlanova

Dear Madam,

I would like to thank you with all my heart for supporting the initiative to give the name Evgeny Svetlanov to the Kaliningrad Philharmonic Orchestra.

This event occurred on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the Orchestra which is located at the western extremity of our country and whose accumulated heritage over the past decades will serve as a base for a new stage of its artistic development.

It is of particular importance to the province of Kaliningrad to develop and maintain its tradition of Russian culture. I am thoroughly convinced that the name of the great conductor Evgeny Svetlanov will be a huge spiritual source to draw on in order to strengthen the pride of our culture.

It is all the more important for education: to instill in the new generation a spirit of patriotism and respect for our national heritage, of which music is an undeniable part.

I would like to inform you that the Ministry of Culture of the Kaliningrad Oblast is looking forward to future collaboration and developing new ideas together.

Please accept, dear madam, our wishes of good health, unending energy and artistic inspiration in supporting our culture.

Minister of Culture of the Oblast of Kaliningrad

C.A. Kondratieva

Domingo Hindoyan @ “Tosca” at the Berlin StaatsOper # A magnificient job!

Photo: K.Miura

An excellent review of Domingo Hindoyan’s work in Tosca by G. Puccini on October 2015 delivered at the Berlin StaatsOper:

“The Staatskapelle Berlin was in excellent form, conducted by Domingo Hindoyan with meticulous attention to the details of the score. He had a sweeping vision of the overall arch of Puccini’s music, and at times brought symphonic majesty to the orchestral prelude. The woodwinds and brass were especially impressive in responding to his clear and insightful reading. He was also supportive of singers’ needs to turn the volume down as needed, but let the orchestra blast thrillingly at the end of Acts I and III.  A magnificent job.” Bachtrack
