  2. Soloist for today’s round pieces (Shelomo, Don Quixote) – principal cello of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Thierry Amadi!

  3. This year Euan Shields is the youngest competitor, he is 23! He graduated from UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and at the moment studies at the Juilliard School in New York City.

  4. Harish Shankar is from Germany and this is his second time on the Svetlanov Competition, last time he passed to the second round, but was not chosen as a finalist, 4 years later he returned and we wish him a lot of luck! He performs Bloch and Beethoven.

  6. Elias became Assistant Conductor of the Korean National Symphony Orchestra, having won First Prize and the Orchestra Award at the KSO International Conducting Competition in 2021.

  7. He also won Third Prize at the 2021 Khachaturian International Conducting Competition in Armenia and Second Prize at the 2021 Lake Como Conducting Competition in Italy.

  8. 7th competitor is Hankyool Yoon (South Corea/Germany). Besides being a conductor, he is a successful composer, prizewinner of many composition competitions including First Luciano Berio International Composition Competition and Concours de Geneve. In 2021 he was awarded Second Prize and Audience Prize at the First KSO International Conducting Competition (South Korea). His choice of rep is Strauss and Stravinsky. Good luck!!

  9. Soloists for the Don Quixote are wonderful musicians from the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra – Thierry Amadi (cello), Francois Mereau (viola), David Lefevre (violin)!

  10. The last candidate of the second round is Henry Christopher Aavik (Estonia), he is 27 years old, but he’s already conducted over 70 orchestras, such as Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich (Switzerland), Staatskapelle Weimar, Jenaer Philharmonie, Göttinger Symphonie Orchester (Germany), Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz, Hradec Králové Phil- harmonic Orchestra (Czech Republic), North Czech Philharmonic Orchestra of Teplice and others.
