We congratulate Daniel Cohen, the winner of the 3rd Prize of the Svetlanov Competition 2010, on his appointment as General Music Director of the Staatstheater Darmstadt (Germany).
On December 7th, Dmitry Filatov, winner of the Second Prize of the last 2018 Evgeny Svetlanov Competition, organized and conducted a concert tribute to the 90th anniversary of Maestro Svetlanov.
The program, which took place at the Belgorod Philharmonic Hall in Russia, included two of Evgeny Svetlanov’s works: The symphonic poems The Read Snowball Tree (soloist – Vera Tsukalenko) and Daugava, Khachaturian’s Rhapsody-Concerto for cello (soloist – Anna Koshkina) and Olga Victorova’s magnificent work The Svetlanov Planet that was premiered during the Final Round of the 2018 Svetlanov Competition.
The “Svetlanov – Universe!” Festival which took place on the 10th and 11th of November 2018 at the Moscow Conservatory, was a real success ! It seemed as if Maestro Svetlanov’s spirit accompanied those crazy days. The atmosphere was incredibly warm and friendly, both backstage and in the Conservatory halls.
13 concerts, masterclasses, video projections, meetings and an exhibition did not allow the audience a single moment of boredrom.
All the concerts were recorded. Some of them were broadcast live on the Russian TV channel “Kultura” . Today, November 18th, 2018, at 7 p.m. the medici.tv webchannel starts a webcast of the Festival concerts. The celebration goes on!
